The Faculty
The faculty of the Body Electric School is the soul of our work. They help create the containers within which we feel safe enough to do our work and guide us on our unique paths. The aftercare meetings they hold following the workshops help continue our community and ease us back into the stress of the world.
They come from vastly diverse backgrounds with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Each has their own wonderful style and presentation. They all have trained for many months, or years to be called a Body Electric Faculty member. They participate in continuing education in faculty meetings throughout the year and pursue outside training. They share their experience and expertise, and design and lead discussions/ trainings on topics ranging from STIs and trauma-informed care to gender and race training.
They create and co-create new workshops to expand the work of the School as well as update existing curricula. Some volunteer for free events like the Heart Circles, They pitch in on projects for the School and are generous with their time and financial donations. Each of them cares deeply for Body Electric School and its community.
Many have moved on to other important embodied works. Some have even come out of retirement to help us celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the School. To every one of them, past and present, my sincerest appreciation!
