Description

🌶️Low Spiciness (breathwork and movement)

What happens when we bring Eros, justice, belonging and curiosity into the same room? Join us to find out as we present four Community Movie Evenings, exploring the intersection of equity, gender and sexuality.

Each quarter, we will gather to watch films that open hearts and minds— stories that explore pleasure, power, identity, and liberation through the lens of equity and sex positivity. These evenings invite us to question what we’ve been taught about bodies and belonging, and to imagine what true erotic freedom might look like — for ourselves and our communities.

After each film, we’ll share in a guided conversation, weaving together insights, discomforts, and delights in a space that values honesty and respect.

Come curious. Leave stirred, inspired, and transformed.

This is a Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion+ (JEDI+) community fundraising event series. Your donation support JEDI+ endevours.

Rhythms of Resistance

This Cinema Politica documentary exposes the controversial Pacifying Police Units (UPP) that the Brazilian government introduced into the Rio de Janeiro favelas (shanty towns) to curb gang violence. Police brutality and murders are met by resistance from the community in the forms of protests, artistry, dance, and other forms of expression

The film’s focus on racial police violence, particularly against Black youth, challenges viewers to rethink and expand their notions of resistance and how ordinary people have agency to make systematic change.

Join us for a screening of Rhythms of Resistance and a lively discussion on how individuals can enact resistance in their daily lives.

A Zoom link will be sent to you when you register
