Each quarter, we will gather to watch films that open hearts and minds— stories that explore pleasure, power, identity, and liberation through the lens of equity and sex positivity. These evenings invite us to question what we’ve been taught about bodies and belonging, and to imagine what true erotic freedom might look like — for ourselves and our communities.

After each film, we’ll share in a guided conversation, weaving together insights, discomforts, and delights in a space that values honesty and respect.

Transgender, at War and in Love

This Emmy-nominated short documentary explores the challenges of a transgender military couple. The film features Logan Ireland, who recently completed a deployment serving as a man, the gender with which he identifies. Remarkably, after telling his leaders and some peers that his sex was assigned female at birth, he received their support. Meanwhile, his fiancée, Laila Villanueva, who was assigned male at birth, has a similar scenario, but works without the support of her command.

Because of how U.S. military policy discriminates against transgender people, the couple’s dreams of serving in the military are at stake.

Join us for a screening of Transgender, at War and in Love, and a discussion of the issues of bigotry and oppression that the film exposes.
