What to Expect

  • Online attendees will attend classes that integrate embodiment with didactic information. Retreat attendees can expect a clothing-on experience that introduces ideas about intimacy in embodied ways using casual, optional touch.
  • You do not need a degree to enter this program. Please note that attendees will be from varying backgrounds, identities and orientations and with a variety of experiences to draw from.

The SSIT program is designed for individuals who are seriously interested in teaching about sexuality and spirituality, or for current teachers of sex and spirituality. You can take the all online version or include the optional retreat, where you will assist the main instructor, meet to deconstruct the process of the retreat, and learn on site.

This training will delve deeply into the mind/body/spirit split, elucidating the ways we can begin to help people to heal. It will greatly enhance your presentation and containment skills, and you will meet some great people while you learn. The main benefit for Body Electric community members will most likely be the deeper learning about human sexuality from a doctoral level instructor, learning the history of the mind/body/spirit split, learning and enhancing skills for creating, designing and presenting workshops, and meeting amazing colleagues.

This is an online program with an optional in-person retreat at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona on September 19-21, 2025. The retreat will take place on the traditional and ancestral lands of the Tohono O’odham nation and the Hohokam and Pascua Yaqui peoples.

Rosalyn Dischiavo
Dr. Rosalyn Dischiavo is the Founder and Director of Institute for Sex Education and Enlightenment. She has led The Body Sacred Community for over 15 years as both Board member and retreat leader. Roz was also President of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) from 2022-2024 and served as Professional Education Steering Committee Chair on the AASECT Board of Directors from 2018-2020. She is the author of The Deep Yes: The Lost Art of True Receiving. Roz is a professor, author, an AASECT Certified Sexuality Educator (CSE) and Sex Educator Supervisor (CSES), She has a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Doctor of Education in Human Sexuality. Her deepest love is learning and teaching in communities.
