For four decades, Celebrating the Body Erotic has helped thousands of gay, bi, and queer men rediscover their bodies, deepen intimacy, release shame, and embrace Eros as a path to healing, connection, and authentic self-expression. To honor this milestone, Body Electric is offering a special event unlike anything in our history.

Join us at Club Heasa, a brand-new, clothing-optional gay men’s resort near San José, Costa Rica, for our first-ever week-long immersion combining Celebrating the Body Erotic (CBE1) and Celebrating the Body Erotic 2: Exploring Anal Pleasure (CBE2). Whether you’re new to Body Electric or returning to deepen your practice, this unique retreat offers the opportunity to experience the full arc of our foundational curriculum in one unforgettable week.

The first half of the retreat focuses on the transformational practices that have made Celebrating the Body Erotic one of Body Electric’s signature offerings. Through breath, movement, touch, communication, ritual, and community, you’ll cultivate greater body awareness, confidence, vulnerability, and authentic connection. You’ll be invited to explore pleasure as a birthright while honoring your own boundaries and choices every step of the way.

Building on that foundation of trust and connection, the second half of the week transitions into CBE2: Exploring Anal Pleasure. In a safe, consent-centered, hygienic, and supportive environment, participants will learn anatomy, communication skills, preparation, relaxation techniques, safer practices, and hands-on approaches to anal touch and pleasure. Whether you’re completely new or looking to deepen your understanding, this workshop replaces fear and shame with knowledge, confidence, curiosity, and choice.

Throughout the week, you’ll be supported by an experienced Body Electric team and surrounded by a community of men committed to mutual respect, enthusiastic consent, and authentic connection. There is never an expectation to participate in any activity beyond your comfort level. Every exercise is invitational, and your “yes,” “no,” and “maybe” are always honored.

Your home for the week is Club Heasa, a brand-new, clothing-optional gay men’s resort created by a fellow Body Electric alumnus who shares our vision of community, authenticity, and erotic freedom. One of the resort’s greatest advantages is its accessibility—located just a 20-minute Uber ride from San José International Airport, you can arrive in Costa Rica and settle into paradise without a long day of additional travel.

Surrounded by lush tropical gardens, Club Heasa offers beautiful new accommodations with a variety of affordable lodging options, making this retreat accessible to a wide range of participants. Whether you’re relaxing by the pool, connecting with new friends, or enjoying the freedom of a clothing-optional environment, the resort has been thoughtfully designed to foster community, comfort, and play.

Our workshop will conclude on Friday, but we encourage you to consider extending your stay through the weekend. Club Heasa is well known for its lively weekend gatherings, where gay men from across Costa Rica and beyond come together for an afternoon and evening of fun, relaxation, and connection. While these social events are independent of the Body Electric workshop and take place outside our facilitated container, they offer a wonderful opportunity to continue enjoying the resort, meet the local community, and experience another vibrant side of Costa Rica’s gay culture.

Preparation

No prior Body Electric experience is necessary, although participants who have previously attended Celebrating the Body Erotic are welcome to deepen their practice through the complete CBE1 and CBE2 immersion.

We encourage you to arrive with an open mind, a spirit of curiosity, and a willingness to honor both your own boundaries and those of others. Body Electric workshops are grounded in choice, consent, and mutual respect. Every exercise is invitational, and you are always free to participate at the level that feels right for you.

You’ll receive a welcome packet with travel information, packing suggestions, recommended reading, and details about what to expect throughout the week. For the CBE2 activities, additional information about hygiene, preparation, recommended supplies, and self-care will be provided in advance so you can arrive feeling informed, comfortable, and confident.

If you’re extending your stay through the weekend, we also encourage you to pack for Costa Rica’s warm tropical climate, poolside relaxation, and our optional beach excursion.
