Operational Custodians

Our operational custodians are experts in their fields, committed to providing excellence in programming, operations, and communications.

Executive Director: Tom Kovach

Tom Kovach
Tom Kovach (he, they) has been on the board of many nonprofits and was the first openly gay city council member in Oklahoma. He wants to utilize his experience in organizational leadership, as well as community, and coalition building. He believes in setting clear goals and bringing people together to accomplish them. Activism has always been important to Tom, and he sees the Body Electric School as an opportunity to help both individuals and the human community. He lives on a working ranch with his husband of 25 years. He enjoys astronomy, hiking, and listening to music, and he is a big Trekkie.
Quote that is most alive: “One impossible thing at a time” Jean Lu Picard.

Director of Marketing: Kelly Huxham

(She/they)
kelly
Kelly Huxham, (she/they) aka Orenda came to Body Electric later in life and thinks the world would be a better place if more people had the awareness that the school teaches. After participating in a second All Genders Celebrating the Body Erotic, they said to their partner “I want to volunteer, to amplify the Body Electric Voice”. Within a week of making that statement an email came through asking for people to volunteer. Orenda did, and well things went from there.
Orenda has been working in communications and marketing of non profits for more than 20 years. They started designing and building things in the 1980s. Lives on the west coast of British Columbia, part time on a 41’ sailboat with their partner and dog, and part time on land with several other sex positive friends. They have 2 children, one in Ontario and 1 in New Zealand, 3 step kids, 3 or 4 grand rascals (who’s counting?) and wants them all to know what it feels like to be in love with themselves.
Orenda is a chosen name, it originates from a Haudenosaunee word, that honors the lineage of my matriarchal grandmother.
